Nora breaks away from Henrik Ibsen’s classic A Doll’s House, exploring the roles, limits, and illusions women are still expected to inhabit. At its core, the play examines our longing for freedom—alongside the equally human impulse to both protect and destroy everything we hold dear. How do we live with such contradictions? Is solitude the only path to understanding ourselves and the world around us?
The play’s modern, non-linear structure posed unique challenges for sound design. With each scene differing stylistically, I focused on creating a consistent sonic identity through timbre. A piano serves as the musical foundation, with layered elements like music box samples and the recorded sounds of glass marbles—evoking childhood and fragility.
